Privacy Policy for Amplify EQ
Privacy Policy for Amplify EQ
Effective date: May 26, 2026 Last updated: May 26, 2026 Developer: One in a Minion (Eason Lai) Contact: oneinaminion@minions.app App: Amplify EQ (Android & iOS)
TL;DR
Amplify EQ does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you on our servers — because we do not operate any servers. The app runs entirely on your device. The only time the app uses the internet is to download a publicly-available AI model file on first launch (and, on first run, to fetch the app's fonts from Google Fonts). After that, every conversation, every score, and every coaching report stays on your phone. We do not have user accounts or server. You can delete everything by uninstalling the app.
1. Information we collect
We collect nothing. Amplify EQ does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use any feature of the app.
Specifically, Amplify EQ does not collect any of the following:
- Name, email address, phone number, or any other identifier
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Photos, camera input, microphone input, or contacts
- Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
- Your conversations with the AI personas
2. Information stored locally on your device
Amplify EQ stores the following information only on your device, in the app's private application-data storage (encrypted at rest by the operating system):
What
The downloaded AI model file (~2.6 GB)
Where
App documents directory
Why
Required to run the on-device language model offline.
What
Your chat history with each persona
Where
Android SharedPreferences / iOS NSUserDefaults
Where
So your conversations resume where you left off.
What
Your settings (sampling parameters, scenario turn limit, optional custom model URL)
Where
SharedPreferences / NSUserDefaults
Why
Preferences persist across launches.
This information is never transmitted off your device. It is removed entirely when you uninstall the app, when you tap "Delete model" in Settings, or when you reset the app from your device's settings.
3. Network requests the app makes
Amplify EQ makes only the following network requests:
- One-time AI model download. On first launch (or whenever you delete the model and tap "Download again"), the app downloads the gemma-4-E2B-it.litertlm file (approximately 2.6 GB) from the public Hugging Face repository at https://huggingface.co/litert-community/gemma-4-E2B-it-litert-lm. This download is performed by the operating system's standard background-transfer service (WorkManager on Android, URLSessionDownloadTask on iOS). Hugging Face, as the host of the model file, may log the request according to its own privacy policy (see https://huggingface.co/privacy). The app does not transmit any personal information as part of this request — only a standard HTTP GET for the file.
- Google Fonts (first-launch only). The app uses the google_fonts library to load typefaces, which fetches font files from https://fonts.gstatic.com the first time a font is rendered. The fetched files are cached locally and reused offline thereafter. Google may log these font requests per its own privacy policy (see https://policies.google.com/privacy). No personal information is transmitted by the app as part of these requests.
- Optional custom model URL. If you change the model URL in Settings → Advanced to point at a different host, the next model download will go to that host instead. This is entirely under your control.
After the model file and fonts have been downloaded, the app does not make any further network requests. All AI inference — every conversation turn, every sentiment score, every coaching report — runs locally on your device's CPU using Google's open-source flutter_gemma plugin and the LiteRT-LM runtime. You can verify this by enabling Airplane Mode after the first launch — every feature continues to work.
4. Sharing with third parties
We do not share any information with any third party, because we do not collect any information to share.
The two third-party services your device may interact with as a result of using the app are described in Section 3:
- Hugging Face (model file hosting) — see https://huggingface.co/privacy
- Google Fonts (typeface delivery) — see https://policies.google.com/privacy
We have no business relationship with either party. We do not receive any data back from them. Neither party receives any personal information from Amplify EQ.
5. Permissions
Amplify EQ does not request any runtime permissions. The app does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, location, SMS, call logs, files outside the app's own private storage, or any other sensitive resource.
The permission_handler library is included only to deep-link to your device's system Settings screen (so you can disable battery-saver restrictions on the app yourself if you want); the library is never used to request a permission grant.
6. Children's privacy
Amplify EQ is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). The app is rated for Teen and above and is intended for use by adults practicing workplace conversation skills. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect any information from anyone.
If you are a parent or guardian and have any questions, please contact us at the address in Section 12.
7. Your rights
Because Amplify EQ does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information off-device, the data-subject rights provided by laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar laws (rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction) are exercised simply by managing the app on your own device:
- Access — All data the app holds about you is visible to you in the app itself.
- Correction — Edit your settings, or start a new chat with any persona.
- Deletion — Tap "Delete model" in Settings, or uninstall the app. Both irreversibly remove all stored data.
- Portability — There is no central data store to export from; your data exists only on your device.
- Objection / Restriction — Stop using the app, or delete it.
If you have a specific request you cannot fulfil by managing the app yourself, contact us at the address in Section 12.
8. Security
Your data lives in the app's private application-data sandbox, which is isolated from other apps by the operating system and encrypted at rest by Android (full-disk encryption, mandatory since Android 6) and by iOS (file-level Data Protection, mandatory since iOS 4). We do not transmit your data anywhere, so there is no server-side breach surface to defend.
The downloaded model file is verified after download against an expected file size and (when configured) a SHA-256 hash, and corrupted downloads are deleted automatically before the file is loaded.
9. International data transfers
The app does not transfer any of your personal data internationally because the app does not transmit any of your personal data anywhere.
If you choose to download the AI model (Section 3) or load app fonts, the corresponding HTTP requests will be routed to Hugging Face's and Google's content delivery networks respectively. These networks operate globally; your request will typically be served from a CDN edge location near you. Neither party receives any personal information from Amplify EQ as part of these requests.
10. Data retention
We do not retain any of your data, because we do not collect any. Data stored locally on your device persists for as long as you have the app installed and is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the in-app "Delete model" action.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, typically to reflect new features or to clarify existing practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and, if the change is material, post a notice in the app on next launch. Your continued use of the app after a change takes effect indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact us
